Commonly asked questions for Adventure Camp (4th & 5th Grade):

Question?  What is the adult to child radio?
Answer: Our summer camp program runs with 1 adult to every 12 youth. We also have a Counselor In Training to assist with activities.  
Question? Who is Adventure Camp Staff for 2009?
Answer: Anastasia Mishkov is our lead staff for Adventure Camp. She has been with the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club for 3 years. She is full of energy and her passion is social awareness. She focuses on having fun while teaching campers age appropriate life skills.
Question?  What qualification do MIBGC staff have?
Answer: All Boys & Girls Club staff has CPR, are First Aid certified, have state and national back ground checks, they must have 2 years of childcare experience, and are extensively trained in Boys & Girls Club philosophy.  

Questions? What should we bring to camp?
Answer: Please make sure to being the following each day to camp:  swim suit, towel, sun screen, water bottle, appropriate clothing and a sack lunch, (NO NUTS, please.)
Question?  Are you a Peanut Free Center?
Answer: Yes. Please do not pack nuts in lunches or in snacks.  We ask that children do not share their food, for safety reasons. If you would like to bring a special snack please speak to the Staff.
Question?  How do you transport campers to and from field trips?
Answer: We travel in our Club vans and sometimes on the King County Metro Bus System.

Question?  How many Club staff go on camping trips? 
Answer: The Lead Adventure Camp Counselor and 2 summer staff attend each camping trip.

Question?  What time can I drop my child off for camp?  
Answer: The Club opens at 7:00am and closes at 6:00pm. We leave for field trips at 9:00 am and return by 4:00pm each day. Please make sure your camper is at the Club no later than 9 am and please pick them up after 4pm.

Question?  Do you serve breakfast and snack?
Answer: Yes, we do serve breakfast and snack. Breakfast is from 7:00-8:00am snack is as soon as we return from our field trip between 3:30-4:30pm.
 
Question?  Do I need to sign my child in and out each day?
Answer: Yes. It is a state law and we also have announcements at our parent table that are very important, SO, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THEM!!!
