Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for teens ages 11-13 focusing on character development. Our Torch Club meets once a week during lunch at Islander Middle School on Thursdays. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to plan and implement activities in four areas:
- service to Club and community
- education
- health and fitness
- social recreation
Torch Club Awards are presented annually to Torch Clubs with outstanding programs and activities in the four areas. Past events run by our Torch Club include: Rake and Run, animal blanket drives, volunteering at Northwest Harvest, sponsoring families for the holidays, middle school dances, and just having fun.
The 1st meeting of the 2009-2010 school year will be held on
September 10th at IMS during Lunch!
